And the results are also in! At 9 months, Ellis weighs 22lbs and is 28 inches long. All of his parts are looking good and he put on a brave face for the three shots he received today – only Mommy cried.
We LOVE #SirEllisRoys’ pediatrician, Dr. Sangtian. He is always wearing the biggest smile. He is kind and patient, spending as much time with us as we need. I actually love walking into his office. I feel like I am walking back in time onto the set of Mr. Rogers or Sesame Street.
I am glad we are making choices as parents (regarding Dr. visits and vaccines) that work for us. For me, I think a big part of it was choosing a pediatrician that we liked and trusted. This parenting journey has truly been a test in how well I listen to my own gut and my own intuition and not follow the crowd (whether that crowd is swinging to the left or the right). I think all parents should have the right to do what they feel is best for their child. I am so thankful that I am able to make that choice. I don’t choose to be involved in anything that has the word “war” attached to it, be it the “mommy wars” or the “vaccine wars” (or the yoga wars, but that is for another post on another day – but listen to me straight, yoga drama is worse than any drama I have ever seen… I digress). I want to make peace with all those warring peoples and I want to hang out together and I want to hear about the best choices you have made for your child and how you have learned to listen to your inner mommy guru.
Make breastmilk, not war. #365things
